Euro-2024 (U-17): Ukraine won the elite round group and booked a place at the final tournament!
Today, with a match against Slovakia, the youth national team of Ukraine (football players not older than 2007) completed the elite round of Euro-2024 qualifying among players under 17 years old.
Previously, in group 4, the blue-yellow team defeated Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0). Today, the wards of Yurii Moroz played a decisive match against Slovakia, in which they fought for a direct ticket to Euro-2024 (U-17).
The game, which took place in the Greek city of Patras at the Pampeloponnisiako stadium, was interrupted in the first half for four hours due to a storm. After the players returned to the pitch before the break, our boys scored twice - first, Stepanov scored from Strilchuk's pass, and then Redushko doubled the advantage of the blue-yellow team.
In the second half, Stepanov scored a double from Dragan's pass. As a result, Yurii Moroz's wards won with a score of 3:0.
Thus, our boys produced three victories, took first place in the group, and qualified for the European Championship, which will be held from May 20 to June 5 in Cyprus with the participation of 16 national teams. The draw for the final tournament will take place on April 3 in Ayia Napa.

We will remind, the draw of the elite round splitted 32 teams in eight groups. At stake are 15 tickets to the final stage, which will take place from May 20 to June 5, 2024 in Cyprus. Eight winners of the groups of the elite round of qualifying and seven runners-up with the best results will enter the final stage based on the results of the March matches. They will be joined by the host country.
