The youth national team of Ukraine U-17 played the second friendly match with the team of Cyprus.

The youth national team of Ukraine (football players not older than 2007), who are preparing for the final part of Euro-2024 (U-17), held a short-term training camp, during which they played two sparring matches with peers from Cyprus.

It is the islanders who are the hosts of the future European Championship. In addition, the national teams of Ukraine and Cyprus will perform in the same group, so it was a good opportunity for Yuriy Moroz's wards to take a closer look at the opponent. The first friendly match, which took place in Sotyra, ended with a victory for the blue and yellow team — 2:0.

Today in Larnaca the teams met for the second time. This time the Ukrainians conceded with a score of 1:2. At the beginning of the second half, the Cypriots scored twice and did not convert a penalty, and Ivan Andreyko scored the guests' only goal at the end of the match.

On March 12, our team under the leadership of Yuriy Moroz finished the fight in the elite round of Euro-2024 selection among players under 17 years old with a victory over Slovakia (3:0). Considering the fact that earlier the blue-yellow team defeated Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0), they became the winners of group 4 and holders of tickets to the final tournament.

The forum itself, with the participation of 16 national teams, will be held from May 20 to June 5, 2024 in Cyprus - at six stadiums in Achna, Larnaca, Paralimni and Limassol. Eight winners of the groups of the elite round of selection and seven runners-up with the best results entered the final stage, where the host country immediately entered, based on the results of the March matches (Belgium turned out to be redundant).

Let's add that for the Ukrainian national team U-17 this will be the 11th final tournament at European Championship.
