Ukraine qualified for the UEFA eEuro 2024 European Electronic Football Championship

Ukrainian cyberfootballer Andrii CIG_ST92_UA Shakalov won Group G of the UEFA eEuro 2024 European eFootball Championship qualification and won one of the eight tickets to the European Championship, which will be held this summer in Germany.

It took place on March 16-17 selection stage of the European Championship, the game series of which took place in the 1vs1 format in the FC 24 simulator on the PS5 platform. 51 winners of national selections of European countries took part in the qualification — and, in particular, Andriy CIG_ST92_UA Shakalov, who became the strongest in the selection for the national team of Ukraine with FC 24.

As a result of the draw Ukraine got into group G and received as opponents representatives of Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Faroe Islands and Kosovo.

During two days, the Ukrainian player played one match with each opponent. Each confrontation consisted of two games (home and away), the scores of which formed the final result of the match. In the event of a draw, the third game with the "golden goal" rule awaited the cyberfootball players.

Andrii CIG_ST92_UA Shakalov started the qualification with a crushing victory over xOL-Mitrovic_10 from the Faroe Islands — 11:2 (5:2, 6:0).

The next matchup, against Wales' xKaiHarris, turned out to be the only one in which the blue-and-yellow player failed miserably. Two games did not reveal a winner (4:4, 3:3), and only a golden goal in the additional meeting brought victory to the Welshman.

The main confrontation of the second game day was the match with the representative of Belgium, BorussiaBradley, for the first place in the group. Two games ended in a draw (2:2, 2:2), and in the third the golden goal was scored by a Ukrainian.

With 9:5 (3:4, 6:1) victories over JoseHamster from Northern Ireland and 8:4 (7:1, 1:3) over Uliks Polloshka from Kosovo, Andrii CIG_ST92_UA Shakalov ended the second game day.

Thus, the Ukrainian finished his performances in Group G with 18 points. And for equality of points with the Belgian, it was the victory in the face-to-face meeting that allowed him take first place and win a ticket to UEFA eEuro 2024.
