Euro-2025 (U-21): Ukraine players commented on the winning match with Azerbaijan
The youth national team of Ukraine claimed a convincing victory in the Euro-2025 (U-21) qualifying match against Azerbaijan - 3:0 and continues to lead Group F.
At first, team players Oleksandr Yatsyk, Oleg Ocheretko and Valentyn Rubchynskyi, who scored the goals against the Azerbaijanis, shared their impressions of the successful performance.
"This is my debut goal, and I am very happy to score for the national team for the first time," Oleksandr Yatsyk said.
"Emotions are very pleasant, because I helped the team win this match. My goal is also the credit of my partners, who played a good combination. We played very well, but we can do better. For example, in the first half we could have attacked more, as we did in the second," Oleg Ocheretko added.
"It's nothing surprising - an ordinary goal scored. We can say that we put an end to the match, to calmly end the game, bringing it to a logical end," Valentyn Rubchynskyi summed up.
Later, the blue-yellow defender Arseniy Batagov joined the scorers.
"The game was good for us from the very beginning, as we started to create moments, plus there were many set pieces. We managed to score a quick goal, so I consider our victory natural. We won all six matches out of six, conceding only two goals. Therefore, I think we are moving in the right direction. The team is progressing and will continue to progress," he emphasized.
As a reminder, the next match of the Euro-2025 (U-21) qualifying tournament will be played by Unai Melgosa's wards on September 6 against Serbia.
