Women's Team of Ukraine wins the bronze medals of the Turkish Women's Cup 2018

The national women's team of Ukraine held its final match at the Turkish Women's Cup 2018. In the match for third place, the blue and yellows defeated the Polish team in a series of post-match penalties.

Both teams showed an uncompromising struggle on every part of the field, the ball was almost not delayed in the central zone. In the first half of the game, Olga Ovdiychuk was active in the Ukrainian team, who had several half-moments, but the Ukrainians never managed to open an account. 

In the second half, the spectators also did not wait for the goals scored, although there were moments: Ovdiychuk was unlucky that day, Khimich made a mistake. Instead, after hitting the head of the Polish striker, Samson pulled out an almost "dead" ball. Did not do in such a tense duel and without removing the opponent two minutes before the end of regular time. But the Ukrainians did not have enough time to materialize their numerical advantage. Therefore, the winner of the third place had to be determined in a series of post-match penalties. 

Reliable game of our goalkeeper Kateryna Samson, who parried two shots, gave the team a 3: 1 lottery victory. Thus, the national team of Ukraine won bronze medals of the tournament and took revenge on the Poles for the home defeat in a friendly match in 2017. 

Note that the goalkeeper of the women's national team of Ukraine Kateryna Samson was recognized as the organizers of the "Best goalkeeper" of the tournament.
