Triumph of the Slovenian national team at the Lobanovski tournament

The Slovenian national team was the winner XV International tournament in memory of Valery Lobanovsky, beating the team of Israel in the final - 3: 0.

The Slovenians lost team captain Martin Kramaric due to injury in the 15th minute of the game. In these minutes, Israel completely dominated the field, and after a forced substitution, the nominal hosts pressed the opponents to the goal. Within ten minutes, the Israelis created four dangerous moments, but the team of Primozh Glikha held back. The Slovenes took full advantage of their only real chance in the first half: the mistake of the Israeli defender cost Mark Balbul's players dearly: Alain Osbolt met the ball on the far post and opened the scoring.

In the second half, Israel, as expected, put pressure on the gates of the Slovenes: the "guests" were saved by the rack, and goalkeeper Greg Sorchan, and the inaccuracy of Israeli players. The decisive moment of the game happened in the 69th minute. A striking counterattack by the Slovenes ended with a shot by Jan Mlakar.

After the second goal, the Israeli youth still tried to save the game, but the third goal destroyed all the chances of the team to win the Lobanovsky tournament. The same Mlakar earned a penalty, and Yanezh Pishchek scored exactly from 11 meters. 3: 0 - victory of last year's outsiders (fourth place at the Memorial-2017).
