Ukraine Super Cup 2018: Opening of the football season in Odessa

Today, on July 21 in Odessa the match for the Super Cup of Ukraine will take place between Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk, which will open a new football season in the country.

The game will take place at the stadium "Chernomorets" (beginning — at 21.00). The starting whistle will give the main arbiter of the meeting — Konstantin Trukhanov from Kharkiv, his compatriots Oleg Pluzhnik and Sergey Becker will act as assistant referees.

Both teams arrived in Odessa yesterday, July 20. As part of the Kiev delegation — 21 players, Paulo Fonseca took on 24 performers, leaving at home Tankovsky, Malyshev and Dodo. Tyson is also on leave after the World Cup.

During the off-season, Dynamo added Brazilian defender Sidcley and his compatriot, midfielder Che Che. Oleksandr Andrievskyi, the midfielder of the national team of Ukraine, also returned to Kyiv. All three were represented by the club on the eve of leaving for Odessa, but only Andrievsky and Che Che were preparing for the match.

Dario Srna, Fred and Bernard left Shakhtar this summer. Newcomers to Paulo Fonseca's team were goalkeeper Oleksiy Shevchenko, midfielders Maicon, Fernando, Marcos Cipriano, and striker Junior Moraes.

We will add that the current draw of the Super Cup of Ukraine is anniversary, the 15th in history, and the ninth which is accepted by Odessa. For Shakhtar it will be the 14th trophy campaign (8 victories), for Dynamo — 11th (6).
