"Zhytlobud-1" with the maximum result reached the 1/16 finals of the Champions League!

The third victory in a row in the 6th qualifying group allowed the women's team "Zhytlobud-1" from Kharkiv to win the qualifying round and reach the 1/16 finals of the Champions League.

After winning over Maltese Birkirkara (8: 0) and Welsh Cardiff Matt (5: 2) Kharkiv "Zhytlobud-1" to win first place in the 6th qualifying group in a duel with the Romanian "Olympia" would be enough and a draw. 

However, in today's match at Kharkiv's Metalist, Valentina Kotyk's wards clearly decided not to take any risks. The meeting was held with the great advantage of Ukrainian women. 

In the first half, Kharkiv managed to direct the ball to the opponents' net only once. In the 36th minute, Nadiya Kunina beat her opponent on the right flank and hit the bottom corner. 1: 0. 

In the second half of the game things went more fun. At the beginning of the half, Daria Apanashchenko bypassed the three defenders of "Olympia" and scored accurately. And in the 21st minute Apanashchenko made a double. After a corner, she jumped above all in the penalty area Romanian. 3: 0. 

All the opponent managed to do was play one ball thanks to the efforts of Christina Carp. So, 3: 1 - the victory of "Zhytlobud-1", which reached the 1/16 of the Champions League.

So, now we will wait for August 17, when the draw will determine the opponent of our team in the 1/16 of the Champions League. Matches of this stage of the tournament are scheduled for September 12/13 and September 26/27. The final of the Women's Champions League this season will take place on May 18, 2019 in Budapest at the Ferencvaros Stadium.
