The official website of FIFA paid attention to football players from Kharkiv, talking about their work in Switzerland during the war in Ukraine

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) on its official website published an article, in which she talked about the special match of Kharkiv "Zhytlobudu-1" U-21 in Liechtenstein.

The youth team of one of the best women's clubs in Ukraine, Kharkiv "Zhytlobud-1" U-21, has been training at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich for the last four months due to the war. The players and coach also continued their studies in Switzerland as part of a special FIFA aid program for victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The coach of "Zhytlobudu-1" U-21 Hanna Pokus introduced a regime of daily training in the team, and some footballers even played for local clubs. In May, the Ukrainian team took part in an international tournament in Italy, where its opponents were local, as well as Montenegrin and Cypriot clubs. After that, the girls attended the women's Champions League final between Barcelona and Lyon, which was held in Turin.

Two weeks ago, Zhytlobud-1 U-21 traveled to Zurich, where they played against the Swiss parliament team, FC Helvetia, and against the FIFA HQ women's team.

On Sunday, July 3, Ukrainian women played an unusual match in the town of Ruggel, because it is not too often that clubs play against national teams. "Zhytlobud-1" U-21 met the national women's team of Liechtenstein, which was created only at the beginning of 2020 and managed to play only six matches in its history (Ukrainian girls lost 0:2).

It should be noted that FIFA has been actively helping Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion. She arranged for several shipments of essential items, including medical supplies, blankets and baby products, to be sent to the country. In addition to these humanitarian activities, FIFA has also adopted a number of temporary regulatory measures to effectively assist players, coaches and clubs affected by the war in Ukraine.
