2019 Ukraine Super Bowl: Dynamo and Shakhtar win trophy in Odessa

Today, 28 July in Odessa will be a match for the Super Cup of Ukraine between Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk, which will open a new football season in the elite of Ukrainian football.

The game will take place at Chornomorets Stadium (starting at 21.00 p.m.). The starting whistle will be given by the main referee of the meeting Vitaliy Romanov from Dnipro, who will be assisted by Oleksandr Voytiuk (Zaporizhzhya) and Volodymyr Volodin (Kherson). Anatoliy Abdula from Kharkiv has been appointed the fourth arbitrator.

Both teams arrived in Odessa yesterday, July 27. As part of Dynamo, the participation of Ukrainian national team midfielder Viktor Tsygankov, who did not play a single friendly match during the summer training camp but returned to the general group of white and blues on the eve of Kyiv's departure to Odessa, is in question. In addition to Tsygankov, Fran Sol, Oleksandr Andrievsky and Mikkel Duelund have only recently returned to training after injuries.

Miners' manager Luish Kastru will not be able to count on Maxim Malyshev and Andrei Totovitsky in Odessa. He flew with the team to South Palmyra, but missed some training Victor Kovalenko.

During the off-season, Dynamo added two newcomers. Former Zorya defender Oleksandr Karavayev and Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kadiri from Austria have joined Oleksandr Khatskevich's team.

For the 2019/2020 season, the Pitmen were preparing a new coaching staff headed by Luis Castro, for whom this classic from Dynamo will be the first in his career. Former Shakhtar defender Dario Srna is also making his debut as an assistant.

We will add that the current draw of the Super Cup of Ukraine is the 16th in history, and the tenth which is accepted by Odessa. For Shakhtar it will be the 15th campaign for the trophy (8 victories), for Dynamo - the 12th (7).
