Gold awards of the championship of Ukraine among veterans 45+ - in "Bukovina-Retro"

The matches of the final stage of the All-Ukrainian Veterans Championship in the age category 5+, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding football player Viktor Kanevsky, took place on October 6-45 in Vyshneve at the Tsentralny Stadium. The winner of the prestigious competition for the second time in a row was the team "Bukovyna-Retro" from Chernivtsi.

In the fight for the championship in this age category, four teams reached the finish line: "Bukovyna-Retro" (Chernivtsi), "Pyriatyn-Poltavshchyna" (Pyriatyn), "Aborigine" (Lutsk) and the national team of Mykolaiv region. According to the regulations, one team had to have no more than six players in 1970—1974 year of birth, the remaining performers were to be born in 1969 and older.

The tournament was traditionally organized by the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine with the support of Agrobusiness LLC and the Ukrainian Football Association.

The age category 45+ is one of the most prestigious in the wide list of all-Ukrainian veteran tournaments held annually by AVFU. Entering a respectable age by football standards, performers mostly play combination football, enjoying themselves and giving it to the audience. Moreover, the teams have enough well-known players, whose skill over the years has only acquired new colors. Thus, Serhiy Nagornyak, Viktor Ulyanytsky, Eduard Tsikhmeistruk, Volodymyr Pavlov, Roman Maksymyuk and others played in the finalists' quartet.

Interestingly, both victories, and with them the main trophy of the competition, "Bukovyna-Retro" won in an extremely intense struggle, without scoring or conceding a single ball. An interesting case, which after the tournament was lively discussed by its participants. Mykola Drozhzha, Ihor Borovyk, Oleh Holobutskyi, Roman Kostiuk, Yevhen Naidanov, Serhiy Nagornyak, Volodymyr Pavlov, Volodymyr Stupar, Vasyl Tofan, Viktor Ulyanytskyi, Eduard Tsykhmeistruk, Mircha Hrypyho, Ivan Sepyh, Ivan Sepyk received gold medals as part of the winning team. , head coach — Valery Sarafinchan. Vasyl Orletskyi, the head of the Chernivtsi Regional Football Federation, provided great support to the team. It is on his initiative and hard work that veteran football is developing in the region, and its best representatives are defending the honor of the region at the national level.

After the tournament, the winners and prize-winners were awarded, which was attended by the legend of national football, AVFU Vice President Volodymyr Muntyan and AVFU Executive Director Vitaliy Kulibabenko. The best player of the tournament was Serhiy Lupinos from Pyriatyn-Poltava region, who also became the best scorer.
