Ukraine's futsal team lost chances to reach the 2020 World Cup

In the second match of the elite round of World Cup selection A recognition of colleagues in 2020 Ukraine's futsal team did not stand up to the Spanish team.

After yesterday defeat against the Serbs and the results of other Group B matches, it became clear that the Ukrainians must take points from the Spaniards. However, our team did not manage to do it in the game with the European vice-champions.

The match started with a great moment for Zhurby, who failed to beat the opponent's goalkeeper. And in a few seconds, Spain earned a penalty, which was cold-bloodedly implemented by Ortiz. After that, the blue and yellows took the initiative, but the guys were a little unlucky, in addition, within the framework of the Spanish team, Juanho worked wonders.

In the first half, from the moments of our national team, we can mention Sorokin's shot, Zvarych's shot into the crossbar, Pedyash's somewhat inaccurate shot from afar. In the 15th minute, the same Zvarych did not use the opportunity to score, hitting the goalkeeper. The Spaniards saved all their moments at the end of the starting 20 minutes. First, Losano scored a double penalty, and then Adolfo hit the goalpost Tsypuna.

At the start of the second half of the match, the national team of Ukraine pressed the opponents again, but for a long time could not open the score with their goals in this match. Again, Juanho was helped by the frame of his goal, who played twice more against our team. But in the 31st minute, Oleksandr Kosenko's wards still soaked the score, when Malyshko on the second attempt managed to score.

However, the hope for a positive result for the blue-yellows did not last long. Already in the 33rd minute Losano made a double, a brilliant strike ended a great counterattack. After that, Pedyash, Zvarych, Farenyuk made their attempts to break through the rivals, and Sorokin lost the most realistic opportunity to reduce the gap. However, in the end, the spectators, among whom, by the way, were significantly dominated by Ukrainian fans, did not see more goals.

After losing two matches out of three, the national team of Ukraine lost its chances even for the second place in the group. On Tuesday, our team will face the final match in Nis - against the French.

The winners of each of the four elite round groups will go directly to the World Cup. Teams that will take second place in the groups will go to the playoffs, where two more tours of the mundial will be played. Butt matches are scheduled for April 9th ​​and April 12th, 2020. 

In total, according to the UEFA quota, seven representatives of the Old World will be included in the finals of the World Cup, which will take place in Lithuania from September 12 to October 4, 2020 (Lithuania being automatically allowed to the final).

We will add that AFC (Asia) will be able to send five teams to the 2020 World Cup, CAF (Africa) - three, CONCACAF (North and Central America - four), CONMEBOL (South America) - four, OFC (Oceania) - one (qualified team of the Solomon Islands). A total of 24 teams will take part in the world championship.
