UEFA freezes media accreditation after Euro 2020 transfer

The union isEuropean football associations have assured the mass media that their accreditations for the coverage of the final tournament of the European Championship will be carried over to next year, when, in fact, the competition will be held.

After the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, which endorsed a proposal by European football head Alexander Cheferin to postpone Euro 2020 next year and to hold it between June 11 and July 11, 2021, the European Football Associations Union released important information to journalists.

The accreditation status of media representatives and their requests to book matches of the final tournament will be frozen in the current state. Once the dates of the 2021 tournament are finally confirmed, journalists and photographers will be notified of the time windows for additional requests for accreditation and other media bookings.

An important point to keep in mind is the media: UEFA-registered journalists must ensure that their profile on the FAME web site remains up-to-date. This means downloading current editorial certificates, a card from the AIPS International Press Association, up-to-date football articles, and other editorial documents.
