Youth Football League of Ukraine: 2020/2021 season shape is outlined (updated)

The House of football hosted a working meeting on the reorganization of the competition system in the Youth Football League 2020/2021 season.

The head of the UAF Youth football department Valerii Zolotukhin greeted all the guests and thanked that at such a difficult time the representatives of the clubs found an opportunity to come to the Ukrainian Association of Football.

The meeting began with a moment of silence, during which the audience honored the memory of the iconic figure of Ukrainian football - Yuri Dyachuk-Stavytsky, who recently passed away.

UAF First Vice-President Vadym Kostyuchenko stressed that the current epidemiological situation in Ukraine is caused by COVID-19, but by reacting in time and stopping all youth competitions, we hope that the next season in the most popular football sector will begin. with the planned schedule in September this year, of course, if there are no complications in our country caused by the coronavirus. And competitions will begin in three leagues, namely - in the Elite League, the top and first leagues of the championship of Ukraine among the teams of children's and youth sports institutions.

The President of the Children's and Youth Football League of Ukraine Vitaliy Bort also, despite all the difficulties, hopes for a positive in this situation. He stressed that the Elite League from next season - to be!

Subsequently, the participants were introduced to the new format of the championship and the rules of the competition.

The Ukrainian Football Championship among children and youth sports institutions of the 2020/2021 season is planned to be held in three leagues, which will be formed based on the results of the club competition of the 2019/2020 season:

Elite League - 24 clubs (U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17): four groups on a territorial basis;

Premier League - 40 clubs (U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17): four groups on a territorial basis;

first league - 80 clubs (U-15, U-17): eight groups on a territorial basis.

The participants of the meeting also considered the approximate composition of the teams of the Elite League of the 2020/2021 season (four age groups), only four groups of six teams.

  3. Metalurh YFS (Zaporizhzhya)
  4. Inter (Dnipro)
  5. Dnipro (Dnipro)
  6. Mykolaiv YFS (Mykolaiv)

Group 4

  1. Karpaty (Lviv)
  2. UFC-Karpaty (Lviv)
  3. FC Lviv (Lviv)
  4. VIK-Volyn (Volodymyr-Volynskyi)

  6. MFA (Mukachevo)

Summing up the meeting, all members of the working group expressed hope that the Elite League will start on schedule, and children's football in Ukraine will return to normal.
