Euro 2022 in futsal. The national team of Ukraine is preparing for the opening match of the group qualifying round with the team of Albania

Oleksandr Kosenko's wards continue the training camp, timed to the start in the group qualifying round of Euro-2022.

Gathering on January 24, the blue-yellows began training in Zaporozhye. That's where the match against Denmark was supposed to take place, but his was canceled and subsequently, by decision of UEFA, postponed to April 8. Thus, it is planned that the teams of Ukraine and Denmark will meet there, in Zaporizhia, twice in two days. 

“The team worked in a two-time training mode. On January 27, there was a sparring match against the national team of Zaporizhia region, formed of futsal players of this region. Now we will go to Brovary, where we will hold one training session on Friday. On January 30, our team will fly to Tirana. In Albania, we will hold a pre-match training session and next Sunday we will play our first match in the group stage of the Euro-2022 selection, ”he said. the press service of the Futsal Association of Ukraine Alexander Kosenko.

In the group round, 32 teams (16 participants in the elite round of the 2020 World Cup qualifiers, nine winners of the qualifying round groups and seven winners of the butt matches) are divided into eight groups of four teams. For the first time in the history of the tournament, the teams at this stage will play against opponents at home and away, holding two matches against each opponent in the group. Eight group winners and six top runners-up will join the Netherlands in the final stage. The two runners-up, who did not make it directly to the final tournament, will play in the playoffs.
