Vitaliy Odegov: "In November, the national team of Ukraine plans to play with the team of Portugal"

The head coach of the youth national teams of Ukraine in futsal Vitaliy Odegov summed up the results of the first training camp of his new team.

The U-17 youth national team of Ukraine held an NTZ in Kharkiv on May 10-14. For young men born in 2004-2005 this fee becoming a debut. This age category will be preparing for Euro-2023.

Following the results of the team's work, the head coach of the Ukrainian youth Vitaliy Odegov shared his resume. His words are quoted the Futsal Association of Ukraine.

- Vitaly Alekseevich, tell us how the first NTZ for the youth national team of Ukraine U-17 went?

- Indeed, for the U-17 age category, this collection was its debut. We met for the first time in such a composition. During this and last seasons in the all-Ukrainian competitions of the U-17 category, we paid attention to potential candidates, and now a team of these futsal players has been formed. In addition, there are other candidates who could join our team.

This collection became introductory. We outlined the future tasks for the guys. We are talking about preparation for the matches of the main round of Euro-2023. If we manage to overcome it, we will prepare for the final part. The national team was formed of representatives of eight different teams.

The NTZ program included two training sessions and one sparring match against the KhNU Applicants team, whose representatives are two to three years older than the national team players. The team worked a lot on conducting a positional attack three in one, positioning in defense during standard positions, and there were a lot of theoretical classes.

- In addition to newcomers, more experienced performers took part in this NTZ, who also managed to play for the U-19 team. Did their actions feel the experience they gained as a result of previous fights and meetings?

- Of course, this experience is invaluable. First of all, we are talking about household items. The guys understand the requirements of the coaching staff and feel a little more confident on the floor.

- What are the future plans of the youth national team of Ukraine U-17?

- In the fall we will start meeting more often (every two or three months). In November, the Ukrainian U-17 team plans to play against Portugal. This will be preceded by a training camp, which the team will hold in October in one of the Ukrainian cities.

- Also tell us about what awaits the youth national team of Ukraine U-19 in the near future.

- The team will prepare for the matches of the main round of Euro-2022, which will take place in March next year. Among the nearest plans is to go to the tournament in Croatia in mid-June.
