U-19: the youth national team of Ukraine started its performance in the Euro-2022 qualification with a victory
In the match with Malta, Volodymyr Yezersky's wards conceded two goals, but scored four.
The first rival of the national team of Ukraine in the qualifying round of Euro-2022 (U-19) was the team of Malta, which on paper was considered an outsider in Group 5, where, in addition to Ukrainians and Maltese, also Finland and Poland.
However, the match for the blue and yellows did not start in the best way. Cross opened the scoring in the 7th minute. But, as further events of the first half showed, it was the only blow towards Twardowski's goal.
Volodymyr Yezersky's wards carried out many attacks and in the 13th minute they played back. Voloshin earned a penalty, and Chrome scored it. 1: 1. Subsequent attacks by Ukrainians also bore fruit. Yarmolyuk scored in the 36th minute. 2: 1.
The beginning of the second half was a continuation of the first. Already in the 55th minute Voloshin took part in the goal again, who became the author of the effective transfer to Shostak. 3: 1. However, in the 58th minute, the relaxation of our players led to the fact that they allowed the opponent to break through the goal for the second time. 3: 2.
The tension in the match was relieved by the same Shostak, who scored his second goal in the 65th minute. 4: 2. And Voloshin acted as an assistant again. Losenko could immediately bring the score to a crushing, but hit the frame of the goal.
At the end of the match, the Ukrainians did not allow to doubt their superiority. Suffice it to say that during the entire match, Volodymyr Yezersky's team struck 26 shots at the Maltese goal, while the opponent responded with only three. A confident victory allows us to look with optimism at the next confrontation between the blue and yellows - with the Finns, which will take place on October 9.
