On Friday, May 20, the national team of Ukraine in cyber football in the FIFA discipline finished its performances in the main qualifying round of the FIFAe Nations Cup 2022. According to their results, the Ukrainian team took eighth place in Group A and dropped out of the fight for for the world championship.

Ukrainian team consisting of Andriy CIG_ST92 Shakalov, Yaroslav ECF_BlackStar98 Gurmak and Oleksiy ForlanFS Mercer held 2-on-2 match matches in the FIFA 22 simulator on the PlayStation 5 platform with the national teams of Austria, Serbia, Switzerland and Portugal, and Italy. .

Despite the frankly unsuccessful performances in the first part of the competition, the second day of the game the national team of Ukraine began with a promising crushing victory over Ireland - 4: 0.

In the confrontation with the Austrians, our cyber football players were the first to miss, but they managed to win back, and during the match the blue and yellows were more likely to snatch the victory - 1: 1.

The key in the tournament context were three consecutive losses of the Ukrainian team - the national teams of Serbia, Finland and Portugal. And if the defeat of the Portuguese with a score of 1: 3 seemed natural, given that the Iberians did not lose a single match during the main round, in the other two meetings, our guys could score points. Unfortunately, in both cases the fate of the match was decided by one ball in favor of rivals.

But the national team of Ukraine clung to the last chance to stay in the game. This was facilitated by a natural victory over Switzerland - 3: 0.

To take sixth place, which would allow Ukrainian cyber football players to play in the lower grid of the 1/16 finals, the team finally had to win in the final confrontation with Spain. Unfortunately, the Spaniards realized their chances and left the Ukrainian team behind the World Cup - 4: 0.

Thus, following the results of two game days of the main qualifying round of the FIFAe Nations Cup 2022, the national team of Ukraine with nine points took eighth place in Group A and lost all chances to qualify for the World Forum on e-football.

But the Ukrainian E-Football Association thanks the team, which did its best to prepare for and take part in prestigious international competitions during the particularly difficult times for the country during the war. The UAEF also thanks the fans who joined the broadcasts and believed in and supported the Blue and Yellows.
