Representatives of Ukraine became the prize-winners of the European football championship among higher education institutions

Ukrainian students became the winners of the European football championship among higher education institutions, which was held in Lodz, Poland, on July 21-27.

The men's team of the State University of Trade and Economics (Kyiv) beat the team of the Spanish University named after Raimunda Lullia from Barcelona. The main time ended with the score 1:1, and in the series of 11-meter penalties, the Kyiv team was stronger - 5:4. In the final, the Ukrainians competed against the representatives of the Romanian University from Timisoara and lost on penalties - 7:8 (regular time - 0:0).

Women's national team of Uman State Pedagogical University named after PG Tychyny defeated the team of the Portuguese University from Coimbra, the current European champion among female students, in the semifinals. The main time ended with the score 1:1, and our girls won the penalty shootout - 3:2. In the final, the Ukrainian women lost to the representatives of the French university from Bordeaux - 1:4, so they won silver medals.

The participants of the finals received the right to represent Europe at the next World Championship among the ZVO, which is to be held in China in 2023. Note that Ukraine will be represented by two teams for the first time.
