UEFA coefficient table: Ukraine gained five points or one point and rose to 15th place
In the five-year cycle 2018/2019—2022/2023, Ukraine currently occupies the 15th position.
It will be recalled that five domestic clubs entered the start of the 2022/2023 season, and two of them have already stopped fighting — Vorskla й Zorya Lugansk relegated from the Conference League.
Ukraine got a very decent harvest this week — five points or 1,000 points (Shakhtar's draw with Celtic (1:1) in the Champions League and Dynamo's draw with AEK (3:3) in the Europa League, Dnipro's win -1" (1:0) over "Apollon" in the Conference League with a bonus for exiting the group), which allowed to bypass Switzerland in the table.
We have the best result among our neighbors and competitors in the registry. Turkey added 0,8 points to the coffers, Switzerland — 0,75, the Czech Republic — 0,5 (although the match with the participation of "Slovak" will be played), and Norway and Denmark were generally left with sheep.
Therefore, Ukraine is currently in 15th place and its gap with the 14th Czech Republic is 0,050 points (1 point), with 13th Turkey — 0,200 (1), with 12th Norway — 0,250 (2). At the same time, we are ahead of Switzerland by 0,075 (1), Denmark by 1,875 (10).
The minimum strategic task for Ukraine is a place in the top 15 of the table of coefficients, since for a lower position the associations lose one quota in the Champions League and delegate four clubs to the European Cups.
In total, Shakhtar has 9 points (including four bonuses for a place in the group stage of the Champions League), Dnipro-1 has 8 (with one bonus for reaching the LC playoffs), Dynamo has 4,5, " Zorya" and "Vorskla" took one each. Currently, Ukraine has 23,5 points or 4,7 points (23,5:5).
This table forms a representation for the 2024/2025 European Cup season, in which, we remind you, the planned change of the system of group rounds to the Swiss one with an increase in the number of participants to 36. The overall representation from the associations and the starting grid for all three tournaments have yet to be approved by UEFA.
