The team of the State University of Trade and Economics became the silver medalist of the FISU University World Cup

The 2023 FISU University World Cup Football was held in Jinjiang (China).

Ukraine was represented at these competitions by the women's team of the Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavla Tychyna and the men's team of the State University of Trade and Economics (Kyiv). And the last one won silver awards at the forum!

In total, eight women's and 21 men's teams took part in the tournament, which was held on October 31-12. Its organizers are the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the Chinese University Sports Federation.

In the group round, our girls were defeated by students from France (0:1), Thailand (0:5) and Brazil (0:5). In the match for the seventh step, the Umanchan women beat their rivals from Guinea - 4:1.

As for the men's team, in the group stage, our boys defeated representatives of Australia (6:0) and South Korea (2:1), in the quarter-finals they beat students from Argentina (3:0), in the semi-finals - from Uruguay (2:0). In the decisive match, the Kyivans met the Brazilians: the main and extra time ended in a draw - 1:1, and in the penalty shootout, the opponents were stronger - 6:5. So the men's team of the State University of Trade and Economics became the silver medalist of the World Cup.
