Oleksandr Kosenko, head coach of the Ukrainian futsal team, commented on the victory in the opening match at the international tournament in Lithuania.

Today, April 13, the blue-yellow team started the international tournament in Lithuania with a match against the hosts (5:2). The post-match comment of the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Kosenko is telling the Futsal Association of Ukraine press-service reports.:

— Daniil Abakshin and Yuriy Savenko will play in the next matches. They were given a rest. Daniil got a little sick, he had a high temperature, so we kept him. Yuri had a microtrauma, he was also given time to recover. Therefore, they will definitely take part in the next games.

Mykola Guivan played very confidently, well done! I congratulate him on his debut and wish him the same growth. He has everything ahead of him.

I liked Lithuania for its organization and sporting audacity. They are playing at home, and we, in principle, expected such a game. They are big and powerful, they were counting on it, but we persevered, we didn't lose the fight - that's the main thing. Very useful sparring, in my opinion.

We will remind you that the Ukrainian futsal team is preparing for the final tournament of the World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6. Our team issued a license in December of last year after the victory over Poland (5:3) in the elite round of qualification. Oleksandr Kosenko's wards took first place in their group and received a direct ticket to the World Cup. Together with Ukraine, Kazakhstan, France, Spain and Portugal won tickets from Europe. Two more lucky winners will be determined on April 17, after the play-off matches between Netherlands and Finland, as well as Poland and Croatia. All participants of the final tournament will be known by April 28, after the completion of the regional qualifying competitions. The draw will take place in the summer in Tashkent, the specific date will be announced later.
