Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine wins "Independence Cup-2018"

On the occasion of celebrating the Day of the State Flag and the upcoming Independence Day of Ukraine on August 23 at the STC. V. Bannikov held a charity football tournament "Independence Cup".

The tournament, one of the organizers of which was the Football Federation of Ukraine, was attended by 10 teams, which were divided into two groups. The team of the Football Federation of Ukraine, the team of builders of Ukraine, the team of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the team of volunteers and participants of the anti-terrorist operation and the team of journalists of Ukraine competed in group "A".

Group "B" was formed by teams of the National Police of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the team of the State Aviation Service and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and FC "Maestro".

The first FFU Vice-Presidents Oleg Protasov, Nazar Kholodnitsky and Vadim Kostyuchenko took part in the inauguration of the Independence Cup and later in the tournament battles in the Football Federation of Ukraine team. Honorary guests of the Cup were also Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Lutsenko and Culture Minister Yevhen Nishchuk.

In Group "A" until the last moment there was an uncompromising struggle for first place between the teams of builders and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. But in the end, the builders made it to the finals. The team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine confidently finished on the first position in group "B".

In the match for third place, the team of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine confidently defeated the Cabinet team - 8: 2. The final game, in which the national teams of builders of Ukraine and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs met, also turned out to be productive and extremely emotional. The decisive match presented a crazy tension and incredible intrigue, which lasted until the middle of the second half. The builders, losing in the course of the game, removed the goalkeeper and tried to equalize the chances at the expense of an extra player, but in the end missed a few more goals and lost - 2: 7.

The new winners of the Independence Cup received the honorary trophy from the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Lutsenko, who stressed that next year the team of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine will make every effort for a rematch to win the trophy again, as it was in 2017.

The award ceremony was attended by First Vice Presidents of the Football Federation of Ukraine Vadym Kostyuchenko and Nazar Kholodnytsky, Head of the Football Development of Ukraine Charitable Foundation Volodymyr Bandurov, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Finogenov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Mykola Danevych , Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Chorney.

"It's great that this tournament took place on such holidays for Ukraine. I'm sure you had fun, - said, addressing the participants of the tournament, the first vice-president of FFU Nazar Kholodnytsky. - On behalf of the FFU, I can say that we are always happy to host here, on the fields of the FFU, any teams and any tournaments that unite Ukraine. Today, on National Flag Day and Independence Day, it is important that such tournaments continue and are traditional. It is very important that such competitions unite different authorities, journalists, football veterans and promote the development of football in our country. "

"My heart was torn with sympathy for several teams. Since last year, after winning the tournament of the Prosecutor General's Office, the cup was stored in the most reliable place of our country - the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, - Prosecutor General Vitaliy Lutsenko addressed the participants of the Independence Cup. "We will fight for him again."

goalkeeper - Igor Chemerys (Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine);

defender - Eldar Makaev (Builders of Ukraine);

attacker - Bohdan Ilchyshyn (Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine - 19 goals);

player - Vasyl Chaly (Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine).
