The VII World Championship among the teams of the Ukrainian diaspora began on August 21, and athletes from 12 countries joined the fight for the "gold" of the tournament - debutant teams from Poland, Spain, Israel, Moldova, Belarus, Estonia and the Czech Republic Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, Austria and the United States. A total of 240 players took part in the tournament. The most successful at the world forum were the Ukrainian Austrians, who in a decisive duel in a fierce battle with a minimum score (1: 0) defeated the national team of the diaspora from the Polish city of Wroclaw. By the way, two national teams from Poland came to compete in the tournament in Ukraine - from Wroclaw and Lublin.

The large-scale international tournament attracted the attention not only of Irpen fans, but also of distinguished and honored guests who visited the Champion Stadium and supported the football project, which was launched in 2012 by the international organization of Ukrainian communities "Fourth Wave". The attentive spectators of the first games of the tournament were the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ihor Zhdanov, the first vice-presidents of FFU Oleh Protasov and Vadym Kostyuchenko, the chairman of the Kyiv regional football federation Yaroslav Moskalenko, the deputy mayor of Irpin Olena Chernyavska, the ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine Sylvia Josefini Cortes, US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Jovanovich, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine Ruslan Bolbochan, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Florian Kolfyurst.

Interestingly, during a meeting in the Football Federation of Ukraine with representatives of the organizing committee of the tournament and members of the international association of Ukrainian communities, the idea arose to launch a joint project - a tournament among children's teams of the diaspora, which should take place next year. The participants of the meeting agreed that the final of the children's tournament will take place at the STC. V. Bannikov in Kyiv. In addition, the leaders of the federation proposed to hold the final of the next World Cup among diaspora teams also on the field of NTK. V. Bannikov.
