Bukovina-Retro is the champion of Ukraine among veterans in the 45+ age category

The final stage of the Ukrainian 45+ Veterans Championship took place at the Tsentralny Stadium in the suburbs of Kyiv, Vyshneve. The strongest team in this age category was Bukovyna-Retro from Chernivtsi.

Unlike last season, in which the 45+ championship and the 50+ championship were held, this time the format of the Executive Committee of the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine was changed. No more than six players between the ages of 45 and 45 could appear on the field in the 50+ championship as part of one team at a time, while others aged 51 and older could appear. In 2018, 12 teams from different regions of Ukraine took part in the tournament, which held two qualifying rounds to determine the quartet of the strongest. As a result, Richelieu (Odessa), Aborigine (Lutsk), Bukovyna-Retro (Chernivtsi) and Pyryatyn-Poltavshchyna (Poltava) played in the final round in Vyshneve.

Mostly it consists of players who in the past played for "Bukovyna", we also include guys from other teams in the region. Bukovina-Retro, together with its president Dmytro Andriyashchuk, is supported by the regional football federation. We will continue to support veteran football in the region, glorify the region by participating and winning prestigious tournaments. The level of the All-Ukrainian Championship is growing every year, the interest in the tournament from veterans from all regions of the country is increasing. Serhiy Karpin from Bukovyna-Retro was awarded the prize for the best player of the tournament. The cups were presented to the winners by AVFU leaders - First Vice President Volodymyr Troshkin and Executive Director Vitaliy Kulibabenko.

By the way, in the final part all the costs of accommodation and meals for the teams, the competition was borne by AVFU. As for the 45+ championship, the well-known teams, the real flagships of Ukrainian veteran football, were represented in the final tournament.
