Euro-2019 (U-21): Ukraine national team lost to Dutch team and completed cycle

In the last match of the European Championship qualifying tournament, Alexander Golovko's wards could not compete with the Dutch.

For the Ukrainian national team in the final match of the group stage of the qualifying tournament Euro-2019 (U-21), any result other than victory did not give the chance to continue the fight for the run to the final of the Continental Championship.

After the home victory over the Scots in the camp of blue and yellow optimism was added, because the wards of Alexander Golovko showed good football. However, the first minutes of the match in Duttingham showed that the Ukrainians will be more defensive and count on successful counterattacks. However, the Dutch did not allow our players to do almost anything, and from time to time they themselves created danger at the gates of Kanevtsev. This lasted until the 21st minute, when Kluivert opened the scoring. And in three minutes Zhivkovich doubled the advantage of the hosts.

The position of the Ukrainian national team has become critical. Only after two missed goals did the team start to get into the Dutch penalty area, but apart from a good mid-range shot from Shepelev, nothing serious in the first half was possible.

In the 47th minute, the Swede had a chance, but the midfielder of Lviv "Karpaty" scored directly at the goalkeeper. However, the hosts, frankly, looked stronger, leaving no doubt about their superiority. Attempts by the blue and yellows to win back did not lead to anything. And the Dutch team scored another goal in the 78th minute. Zhivkovych distinguished himself again.

Taking third place in their group, the national team of Ukraine stopped fighting for a ticket to the finals of the European Championship.
