Oleg Shaitanov: "We postponed training to a later time, because our first game at the Euro will start at 23.45"

The head coach of the women's national team of Futsal Oleg Shaitanov spoke about the last phase of preparation of the team for the performance at Euro-2019.

From the 5th to the 13th of February blue-yellow collect in Brovary. Upon its completion, our team will go to the Portuguese city of Gondomar, where the debut European Women's Futsal Championship will take place.

In the final part of the EURO Four teams will participatewho won in their selected groups. In the semifinals on February 15 Ukrainian will meet with Portugal (the match starts at 23.45 Kyiv time), and in the second match of this stage Spain and Russia will meet.

On the eve of the start of the tournament, we talked to the coach of the women's national team of Ukraine Oleh Shaitanov.

- Are all your wards healthy and ready to play in Euro 2019?

- The girls who are at the meeting now do not complain about their health and all train in the general group. Unfortunately, the injuries did not pass us by the day before. Taisiya Babenko and Olena Tsykalenko will not be able to help us in Portugal. But I am sure that mentally they will be with us.

- Why was Brovary chosen as a gathering place?

- This city is located near the airport, there are all the conditions to prepare the team for the first European Women's Championship. 

- Are there any peculiarities in the team training mode?

- Compared to the previous training camp, we have postponed training to a later time, because our first game at Euro 2019 will start at 23.45 in Kyiv. We do two workouts a day and find time for theory. The girls work with maximum dedication, realizing that they will be the face of Ukraine at the European forum.

- Do you watch the matches of the Portuguese national team and other participants of the Final Four?

- Rivals are very difficult, but our girls are optimistic. We have videos of Portugal's friendly games and with Spain, and with Russia. There is a record of our duel with Portugal a year ago. Video matches of future rivals with Hungary we have not yet disassembled. We try to pay attention to all aspects of the game.

- When will you name the national team's application for the European Championship?

- Finally, we will decide on the lineup on Monday. We fly to Portugal on the morning of February 13.
