The Ukrainian football team of Ukraine held the next stage of preparation for the World Universiade, which will be hosted by the Italian city of Naples in July.
In Uzhgorod, the wards of Honored Coach of Ukraine Anatoly Buznik became the winners traditional international tournament "Carpathian space".
- To be honest, of course, we wanted our competitors to be more skilled, - said the helmsman in a comment to the official website of the UAF. - However, we received the necessary information about the candidates for the national team. In particular, the match with the Moldovans was accompanied by heavy rain, on a viscous field, and it was interesting to find out whether the wards will be able to control the ball in such weather conditions, combine, surprise the opponent with unusual actions. I am glad that the guys lived up to expectations.
- Can we say that the backbone of the national team, which will perform in Italy in July, will be made up of those performers who competed in Uzhgorod?
- No, from this lineup we will invite 10-11 players to the final stage of training at best. I hope that the rest will be representatives of the teams of masters, who for good reasons could not come to Uzhgorod.
- And when will you finally decide on the 20 players who will go to Naples?
- On June 21 we will gather in Kyiv for the final stage of preparation, we will play two or three sparring matches. We are making efforts to be youth teams of Dynamo, Shakhtar or first-league Kolos. It's time to test yourself in the confrontation with qualified counterparts, then, believe me, it will be easier in Italy. We will invite 25 candidates to this meeting, of which we will determine the strongest by the end of June. And we no longer have the right to make a mistake, because we have very ambitious plans to perform at the Universiade.
