Sergey Sapronov: "I will set before wards one task - to rise in a class"

The head coach of the girls' national team of Ukraine WU-17 Serhiy Sapronov commented on the results of the draw of the first round of the 2022 European Championship among girls under 17 for the official UAF website, where together with our football players in Group 3 of League B will also play teams from Estonia, Moldova and Northern Macedonia.

- I will set before wards one task - to rise in a class though I realize that it is necessary to form a team practically from a blank sheet, - Sergey Sapronov told. - After all, even if we take as a basis the national team of Ukraine among 15-year-olds, it last met at the end of 2019. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, no competitions were held for players of this age. That's why we are still working in the information field, to begin with we are finding out which of the girls remained in football.

- What about future rivals?

- It is a difficult question, because so far we have focused on the staffing of the national team of Ukraine. But if you take into account the popularity, the massiveness of women's football, I am convinced: our girls must win in this group! According to preliminary information, the qualifying competitions will be hosted by Estonia and will start at the end of September this year.

- When do you plan to hold the first meeting?

- In June in Kyiv, we are going to invite 22-23 football players.

- And which of the girls of this age has already made her debut in the top league of the women's championship of Ukraine?

- Victoria Radionova, Yana Kharchyna, Myroslava Nevar from Ladomir (Volodymyr-Volynskyi), Eva Izotova from Vinnytsia (EMC-Podillya). We are also following Valeria Honcharuk from Kyiv's Obolon, who is going to enter the first league. I hope that they will claim the role of leaders.

- Who will help you in working with the national team of Ukraine?

- Mykola Sydorchuk from Kostopil's Rodyna-Lyceum and Lyudmyla Lemeshko from Chernihiv's Yunosti-SHVSM.
