The match of the youth national team of Ukraine against the Faroe Islands was expected primarily in the context of rehabilitation for the crushing defeat in France (0: 5). The head coach of the blue-yellows made two substitutions in the starting lineup compared to the match in Brest. Instead of Mykhaylenko and Kukharevych, Mudryk and Vyunnyk came on the field.

If the first 10 minutes the players of the national team of Ukraine looked closely at the opponent, then the moments at the gates of Merck began to appear with enviable regularity. Vivcharenko had a chance to hit the goal, but the goalkeeper of the Faroe Islands played well when the defender of the Ukrainians scored with his head from 11 meters. However, the blue and yellows could go to the break with a more comfortable advantage. In the 40th minute, Edmundsson was penalized with a yellow card and a penalty for playing with his hand in his penalty area, but Sudakov decided to play an 11-meter penalty with Bondarenko. Merck repulsed the blow of the captain of the Ukrainians.

The second 45-minute also began with attacks from the hosts. The number of strokes of the blue-yellows exceeded one and a half dozen, but the numbers on the scoreboard have not changed. By the middle of the half, the Ukrainians paused again in the offensive, allowing the opponent to cross the middle of the field several times, and then ran forward again, but the ball stubbornly did not go into the goal, and sometimes the goalkeeper of the guests worked wonders. Well, Vyunnyk had the most real chance to score in the 86th minute, but after a flank pass Sich did not hit the empty net. As a result, the match ended with a minimal victory of the national team of Ukraine, which allowed our team to score nine points after four matches.

The matches of the tournament with the participation of 16 national teams will be hosted by four stadiums in Romania (two in Cluj-Napoca and two in Bucharest) and four in Georgia (in Batumi, Poti and two in Tbilisi). The opening match will take place in Romania, and the final - in Georgia.
