Oleg Shaitanov: "We are planning two away away matches with Sweden in February"

The head coach of the Ukrainian women's futsal team Oleh Shaitanov summed up the results of friendly matches with Spain.

In preparation for Euro-2022 On January 18-19, the blue and yellow team held two sparring matches in Bucha against the current European champions, the Spaniards. In both matches, our team lost - 0:7 and 1:3.

The head coach of the Ukrainian women's futsal team Oleh Shaitanov commented on the results of sparring.

"In the first match, we, unfortunately, lost 0: 7. But we understand the strength of Spain. They played according to their plan, tried to act in three fours. Yes, something did not work out, but still all the girls played, gained valuable experience playing with European champions.

It is always difficult to play for the national team, it is too difficult to play the first match against the Spaniards. Everyone was worried, not only the debutantes. Unfortunately, in the first match we could not show our game, squeeze everything out of ourselves as much as possible.

We also lost in the second sparring, but there is hope that in this way we will become stronger. We analyzed the first game, mistakes that were similar to those we made in the matches against Portugal. They tried to fix them, lost, but looked stronger in the game.

Unfortunately, Alyona Kyrylchuk and Snizhana Volovenko could not help us in sparring, Sofia Ruban was eliminated in the second match. In the first meeting I tried to let everyone play, in the second - to check more fighting force. The young girls were worried somewhere, but in the second match they got stronger, they saw that it is possible to play with this Spain.

Thoughts to play in the five field were, but still these are control matches. I wanted the girls to play more futsal. Every minute is very important for the players, because they faced the European champions.

We are meeting at the end of January, and on February 4-5 we are planning two away away matches against Sweden. And then there will be a gathering on the eve of the European Championship, "Oleg Shaitanov said in a comment for YouTube channel of Futsal Association of Ukraine reports.
