Euro-2023 (U-19). Ukraine finished qualifying round with a victory over Sweden
Today, the youth national team of Ukraine U-19 (football players not older than 2004) completed their performance in the qualifying round of Euro-2023.
After the victories over Kosovo (1:0) and Cyprus (4:1) the blue-yellow team guaranteed themselves a place in the elite round. Serhiy Nagornyak's wards played their final match in group 3 in the Swedish city of Norrköping, where they met the hosts of the mini-tournament.
The Ukrainians won 2:0 thanks to goals from Yehor Yarmolyuk and Vitaly Kholod, thus taking the first place in the group. Now the blue-yellow team will wait for the draw of the elite round, which takes place on December 8.
As a reminder, the first two teams from each of the 13 groups and the best winner of the third place (based on the results of the matches with the first and second teams of the group) will join Portugal in the elite round of qualifying in the spring of 2023. Malta's national team won a direct pass to the final stage as the host of the tournament. The winners of the seven groups of the elite round will go there.
