"In the 2vs2 mode, the team has a fairly high level": the players of the Ukrainian e-football national team - about the entry into Division 1 of the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 selection

Players of the national e-football team of Ukraine in the FIFA discipline Oleksandr CIG Grishay Grishay and Andriy CIG ST92 Shakalov commented on the team's start in the play-in round of the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 and its promotion to Division 1 according to the results of the first game week.

"We have been playing together with Oleksandr Grishai for more than a year. Sashko suggested that I be the captain of the national team. Despite this, we give hints to each other in the game.

We took a responsible approach to the start of Play-Ins. In my opinion, the first matches make a huge contribution to the outcome of the competition.

Belgium and Switzerland are strong rivals. But we didn't let the Belgians do anything in the first game and took three points. We lost to Switzerland tactically, but we approached the return match with the maximum setting.

Our goal is to qualify for the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023. It is important to play in Division 1 to qualify for the World Cup. And we have great expectations from this year's competition," said captain of the blue-yellow team Andriy CIG ST92 Shakalov.

According to Oleksandr CIG Grishay Grishaya, preparation played a decisive role in the team's success, because the guys trained in this team for a month and played a lot of matches in 2vs2 mode.

«I was not worried at all during my debut for the national team. Andrii was probably more worried than me. Although he has been in the national team for two years. I tried to calm him down so that he was in a psychological state. 

The best thing we did was quick exits from defense to attack. We scored many goals precisely after interceptions and sharp runs into the attack.

Before that, we played with the top e-football teams — Sweden and Italy. And we beat them. Of course, there were control matches, and in official competitions everything is more difficult. But I think that in the 2vs2 mode, the Ukrainian national team has a fairly high level," the Ukrainian cyberfootball player expressed his opinion.
