Oleg Shaitanov: "In some moments, our girls were more accurate, which decided the fate of the match"

The head coach of the women's futsal team of Ukraine Oleg Shaitanov commented on the victory over the team of Slovenia (2:1) in the first friendly match.

"The game was very difficult for our experienced players, so I would not evaluate the new players of the national team. This match is very reminiscent of our match against the Slovakian team this year, where we also came together in a day and gave a not too impressive performance. So everyone didn't play to their full potential.

I can't say that we changed much in the second half, but in some moments our girls were more accurate, which decided the fate of the match. Especially the last counter-attack "3 in 2", when we really played well the opportunity to score the ball. On a 10-point scale, I rate the team's game at 4-5, because we really did not impress with our game in this match," Oleg Shaitanov said in a comment for YouTube channel of Futsal Association of Ukraine reports.

The second match between the national teams of Slovenia and Ukraine will take place today in the city of Podčetrtek (starting at 18:00 Kyiv time).

It will be recalled that FIFA recently decided that the first ever women's futsal world championship will be held in 2025. 16 teams will take part in the tournament. Quotas for participation in the World Cup are distributed as follows: Europe — 4, South America — 3, Asia — 3, Africa — 2, CONCACAF — 2, Oceania — 1. Another place will go to the host country.
