Sergiy Sapronov: “We are not going to take tourists to Serbia for the Euro qualifying tournament”

The penultimate stage of preparation of the girls' national team of Ukraine WU-16 for the qualifying round of the European Championship began on September 17, and on the 19th and 21st in Kyiv control matches will take place blue-yellow with Latvians.

- As sparring is not planned during the final training camp in October, it is in the confrontation with the Latvian team that we will determine those who will represent Ukraine at the competitions in Serbia, - said the head coach of our team Serhiy Sapronov in an interview with the UAF official website.

- What information do you have about your nearest rival?

- I have several videos of the last matches of the Latvians. They are physically strong, act in a forceful manner. By the way, our rivals at the UEFA Development Tournament - the national teams of Finland and Lithuania - played in a similar style in May.

- In comparison with that May exam in Finland, the composition of the national team of Ukraine has changed?

- It is not accidental, because recently in Volodymyr-Volynskyi they have seriously started preparing for change. There is a modern infrastructure here, young football players have proper conditions for both training and coaching. Not surprisingly, they are knocking louder on the door of the women's team "Ladomyr", which successfully started in the top league of the Ukrainian championship.

- In May, after returning from the UEFA Development Tournament, you are in an interview'On our website, it was noted that our flanking defenders and attackers did not live up to expectations in Finland.

- My assistants Lyudmyla Lemeshko and Mykola Sydorchuk and I are making efforts to rectify the situation. I hope that thanks to the newcomers of the national team - Olga Voitenko, Natalia Kornatskaya and Olena Mustafayeva - we will be able to eliminate vulnerabilities. Before the matches with the Latvians, I will definitely warn the wards that we will not take tourists to Serbia. The application can include 20 players, but I'm going to stop my choice on 18 - only those who can really fight for a ticket to the elite round.

It will be recalled that from October 20 to 26 this year, the WU-17 national team in Serbia will compete for a ticket to the elite round qualifications for the 2020 European Championship. The Ukrainians will have to withstand competition from the hosts, as well as the national teams of the Czech Republic and Georgia. If successful, the blue-and-yellows will face an even more difficult test in the next round, which will take place in the spring of 2020.
