Maxim Andrasyuk, the player of the national team in cyber football: "I am sure that the chances of leaving the group remain with us"

Maxim Andrasyuk, the player of the national team of cyber football, spoke about the first round of the first stage of selection for eEURO-2020 and preparation for the second round.

March 16 is our national cyber football team in the PES discipline spent the first game day in the selection of the 2020 European Championship. In qualifying group H, the Ukrainians played five matches. In the matches against the national teams of Italy, Wales, Montenegro, Andorra and the Faroe Islands, our boys won three times, drew once and lost once.

In four of these matches, each of which consisted of two individual confrontations, the reserve player of the national team of Ukraine Maxim Makson Andrasyuk took part. On his personal account - two wins, a draw and defeat. 

Maksym shared with the UAF press service his impressions of the matches played and hopes for the future: “The first round was not quite successful for us. We expected to take more points than the 10 currently in our assets. With all rivals it was possible to play at least on equal terms, but the first match with Italy, we, unfortunately, failed. Well, they lost in a fair fight ...

We lost two points in the matches against Montenegro, because it was absolutely our game. We had to win. I played in the first match, led 2: 1, felt that everything was working out, and had to press the opponent. However, I probably didn't have enough experience and I missed at the very end of the match. As a result - only 2: 2. And then my partner also drew (0: 0), and had at least five hundred percent points, but could not realize any. Our other rivals are clearly weaker, there were no problems with them, so we won three fairly easy victories. 

I am sure that we still have a chance to leave the group. The first place, of course, will be a little harder. To do this, we had to beat Montenegro. And now not everything depends on us. It was not enough just to win over Italy - it is necessary for the leader to lose points somewhere else. Instead, the second place is quite real. In terms of the level of the game, we are stronger than the Montenegrins, and if Fortune is even slightly on our side, we have to beat them.

After the first day of the game, we consulted with the whole team and decided to take a short break. We played a lot, prepared hard, and we already have something, we can say, my eyes were confused. But from Saturday we returned to training again, we play 15-20 matches a day. Everyone is quarantined at home, and there is more time to prepare. Someone changes the game schemes, someone adds something new to their game. Everyone is preparing, and each of the four players is ready to take part in any match. "

It will be recalled that after the first day of qualification, the Ukrainian cyber football team in the PES discipline ranks third in the Group N standings. Our team has 10 points, one point behind Montenegro and three points behind Italy. The second game day of the first group stage is March 30.

We will add that the winners of each of the 2020 qualifying groups will receive a direct pass to the 10 European Championship. The second-place teams will take part in the second stage of selection, which will determine six more participants in eEURO-2020.

The matches of the second stage of selection will take place on May 4 and 11. The final tournament among the 16 best national teams of Europe is scheduled for July 9-10 in London.
