Euro-2023 (U-17): the youth national team of Ukraine will receive rivals in qualifying on December 8

U-17 Youth Team of Ukraine (current U-16, players born in 2006) learns the names of rivals in the qualifying round of the European Championship 2023 during the draw, which will take place on December 8 (beginning - at 12.00 Kyiv time).

As a result of the draw, 13 quartets will be formed in Nyon, reports UEFA.

The first two teams of each group and the four best third-place winners (following the matches with the first and second teams of the group) will join the Netherlands and Spain in the elite qualifying round. The Hungarian national team won a direct pass to the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-17) as the host of the tournament.

Lottery procedure and sowing baskets

Cart A: England, Italy, Portugal, Germany, France, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Austria, Serbia *, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina *, Scotland.

Cart B: Ukraine, Czech Republic, Israel, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Russia *, Greece, Slovenia, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia, Iceland.

Cart C: Finland, Cyprus, Belarus, Romania, Azerbaijan *, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Wales, Georgia, Northern Ireland, Bulgaria, Latvia, Faroe Islands.

Cart D: Lithuania, Albania, Estonia, Armenia *, Kazakhstan, Kosovo *, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Luxembourg, San Marino, Malta, Gibraltar.                                                                                 

* - According to the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee and the working group on emergencies, the following teams are divided into different groups: Serbia and Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, Russia and Kosovo, Azerbaijan and Armenia. 

According to coefficient tables four sowing baskets were formed. Basket A includes 13 teams with the highest rating, basket B - the next 13 teams, and so on.

In each group there will be one representative of each basket. The hosts of the mini-tournaments will be determined after the draw.
