Oleksandr Kosenko: It's good that we took the lead and increased our advantage

The head coach of the Ukrainian national futsal team Oleksandr Kosenko commented on the second match of his wards at the 2022 European Championship.

In the second match of Euro-2022, Ukraine smashed Serbia with a score of 6: 1 and kept the chances of reaching the playoffs. After the game, Oleksandr Kosenko appreciated the result of the blue-yellows' performance: 

"Even a draw in the match with Serbia left us almost no chance to compete further. The defeat from Netherlands cannot be called a coincidence, but it was unfortunate. We could have achieved a positive result in that match as well.

Our goal was, first of all, to prove something to ourselves, to stay in the race of the European Championship, which takes place every four years.

It was difficult without four players. It's good that we scored quick goals, it allowed us to play more defensively. So we saved a little energy. If we were first to concede, it would have been very difficult, and who knew how it would have turned out. It's good that we took the lead and increased our advantage.

We didn't save energy, we just played from defense. Today we have committed everything we could to get a win, "Oleksandr Kosenko summed up after the match.
