U‑17: the youth national team of Ukraine lost to "Alexandria" in the control match

The youth national team of Ukraine U‑17 played the first friendly match of the season today at NTB "Dynamo" in Vyta-Litovsk.

The match against the representative of the UPL, "Alexandria", took place within the first educational and training camp of the blue-yellow team, which began on the 17th and will last until September 26. It is dedicated to the preparation for the matches of the qualifying round of the Euro-2023 selection (U-17).

The coach of the Ukrainian U‑17 national team, Yuriy Moroz, called 28 performers to the meeting, so he used today's match to watch almost all of his wards. They were opposed by the adult team of "Alexandria", which, although it came out with a semi-duplicating team, but gradually during the meeting released the leaders on the field. It should be noted that the match started with a 20-minute delay due to an air alarm.

The difference in age was immediately apparent, and already in the 25th minute, the Alexandrians were leading with a score of 3:0. Yuriy Kopyna, Oleksandr Martyniuk and Vikentiy Voloshyn distinguished themselves. In the 41st minute, the national team had a chance to win back one goal, but the goalkeeper of "Alexandria" reacted to a good shot by Vladyslav Kalin. In two minutes, the striker of the blue-yellow team once again threatened the opponent's goal, but the ball slipped past the goal post.

After the break, Yurii Moroz completely changed the composition of the national team, and at the beginning of the half, Kyrylo Osypenko had a good opportunity to stand out, but his shot was also not accurate enough. Instead, in the 52nd minute, Yuriy Kopyna brought the score to 4:0. In the 60th minute, Danylo Kaidalov dared to hit a shot from 25 meters, and once again fortune was on the side of the Alexandrians. 

So, 0:4 is the defeat of the Ukrainian U-17 national team.

Youth team of Ukraine have been drawn to group 2, where they will meet with the teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein. The mini-tournament will be held from October 24 to 30, 2022 in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Mladost Stadium in Kakan and at the training center of the local football federation in Zenica.
