Table of UEFA coefficients: Ukraine guaranteed a place in the top 15 of the five-year cycle of European Cups
In the five-year cycle 2018/2019—2022/2023, Ukraine rose by 14-in position and secured a place in the top-15.
Five domestic clubs entered the start of the 2022/2023 season, and four of them have already stopped fighting — Dynamo relegated from the Europa League, and "Vorskla", Zorya Lugansk and Dnipro-1 relegated from the Conference League. The last one was on Thursday, losing two matches to AEK Cyprus (0:1, 0:0). However, at the same time, the people of Dnipro earned an extremely important point, which guaranteed Ukraine to fulfill the minimum strategic task - to get into the top 15 of the table of coefficients, because for the lower position of the association, they lose one quota in the Champions League and delegate four clubs to the European Cups.
Ukraine was able to bypass the Czech Republic, which had previously lost all its representatives, and also Norway, which ended the campaign after the relegation of Bude-Glimta. We are currently in 14th place, 13 points (0,375 points) behind 2th place Switzerland, who have Basel left in the Conference League. The rival scored 0,5 points this week and Ukraine - 0,4, as another bonus point was earned by Shakhtar for reaching the round of 1 of the Europa League. This happened after the Donetsk club the day before French "Rennes" won in the penalty shootout (5:4) in the return match of the direct round (playing time — 1:2).
In the current season, Shakhtar has 12 points in total (including four bonuses for a place in the group stage of the Champions League and one for a ticket to the 1/8 finals of the League), Dnipro-1 has 9 (with one bonus for reaching the play-offs of LK), "Dynamo" - 4,5, "Zorya" and "Vorskla" took one each. Thus, Ukraine currently has 27,5 points or 5,5 points (27,5:5).
This table forms a representation for the 2024/2025 European Cup season, in which, we remind you, it is planned to change the system of group rounds to the Swiss one with an increase in the number of participants to 36. The total representation from the associations and the starting grid for all three tournaments have yet to be approved by UEFA.
