Ukraine's national veterans team will play at the Legends Cup in Georgia
On January 13, Tbilisi will host the third Cup of Legends, dedicated to the memory of the famous football official, UEFA manager for work with national associations David Petriashvili.
In the Olympic Palace for the prestigious trophy will compete six teams, formed of famous players of past years.
Group A: Ukraine, Spain, UEFA.
Group B: Georgia, Turkey, FIFA.
As part of the group stage, the teams will play against each other. The two best will reach the semifinals, the winners of which will determine the champion in the decisive game. For each of the four national teams will play the best players who have defended the honor of their countries in different years, and for the FIFA and UEFA teams - representatives of other countries and Europe.
The team of veterans of Ukraine will go to the capital of Georgia under the guidance of coaches Anatoliy Demyanenko and Volodymyr Lozynsky. Vitaliy Reva, Oleg Sobutsky, Vasyl Rat, Volodymyr Bondarenko, Yuriy Maksymov, Serhiy Nagornyak, Eduard Tsikhmeistruk, Serhiy Nazarenko, Bohdan Shershun, Andriy Donets, Andriy Vorobey and Vitaliy Mandzyuk will appear on the field in blue and yellow T-shirts. The partners of the national team of Ukraine are the Football Federation of Ukraine, the Association of Football Veterans of Ukraine and Agribusiness LLC.
Other participants will have star names. In particular, FIFA legends will be played by Jeremy Nitap, Marco Materazzi and Nuno Gomes. Georgians, led by National Football Federation President Levan Kobiashvili, Kaha Kaladze and Georgy Demetradze, are traditionally powerful.
It will be recalled that the Cup of Legends has been held in Tbilisi since 2017 and is one of the most prestigious tournaments among veterans in Europe. In the first two draws, in January 2017 and 2018, the winners were the hosts - the national team of Georgia. The national team of Ukraine, a regular participant in the competition, took second and third place respectively.
