U-16: Alexander Petrakov's team gathers to participate in the international tournament
The youth national team of Ukraine U-16 (football players not older than 2003 of birth) will play without players of Kyiv "Dynamo" at the tournament in Minsk.
Today the youth national team of Ukraine U-16 has started training, during which it will take part in the international tournament "Development Cup", which will be held from January 20 to 28 in Minsk. The rivals of the blue-yellows in the group round will be the teams of Slovakia, Bulgaria and Lithuania. A total of 12 teams (most of them aged U-17) will take part in the competition, which is divided into three groups of four teams.

At this stage of training, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Oleksandr Petrakov is counting on 19 players, among whom there are no players of Dynamo Kyiv.

According to the format of the tournament, the winners of the groups and the best team among those who took the second places reach the semifinals. For the 5th-8th position, the two worst teams from those who finished second in the quartets and the two best teams from those that took third place will compete. The rest of the participants compete for the 9th-12th steps.
Note that last year the winner of the Development Cup became the U-17 national team of Ukraine, headed by Oleg Kuznetsov. Overall, the blue and yellows have won the tournament four times (2009, 2012, 2016, 2018).
We add that for Alexander Petrakov's team this tournament is one of the stages of preparation for Qualifying Round for Euro-2020 (U-17).
