Volodymyr Lozynskyi: “It is a pleasure to work with the best footballers of Ukraine”

The new year for the national team of Ukraine among veterans began with changes in the coaching staff. Anatoliy Demyanenko, the leader of football legends, has been unchanged for the last four years. agreed to the offer from the Slovak "Nitra", and Vladimir Lozynsky became the new head of the national team. It is symbolic that the appointment took place on the day of the 65th anniversary of the famous specialist.

- It was nice to receive such a gift for the anniversary along with hundreds of congratulations, - noted Vladimir Fedorovich. - For four years, together with Anatoliy Demyanenko, we worked in the national team, played about 200 matches in Ukraine and other countries. The team has a great atmosphere, everything is done with humor, the guys respect and support each other.

Previously, veteran teams met from time to time, to play one or two games, but we are all serious. Oleg Sobutsky, to whom I am very grateful for his trust, has placed work at the level of professional teams. We train twice a week, everyone has a full set of equipment, we play matches in the best stadiums, in the presence of thousands of spectators. It was a great pleasure to be offered the opportunity to become a head coach.

- Where do you start work, what are your immediate plans?

- The work in the national team is well established, so the changes will be minimal. Now our main task is to prepare well and successfully perform at one of the most prestigious veteran tournaments in Europe - in memory of David Petriashvili in Georgia. Ukraine is a traditional participant and in the previous three draws stopped a step away from victory. Now let's try to get the main trophy. Also, when it gets warmer, we will continue touring the cities of Ukraine, be sure to visit our military in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Our leader Oleh Sobutsky is a respected person in army circles, in recent years we have visited dozens of units and subdivisions, held matches somewhere, and simply communicated somewhere.

- Do you plan to invite newcomers to the national team?

- This is a natural process, it continues continuously here. The guys are finishing their careers, looking for themselves in football, starting to train. Among our latest additions are Ruslan Rotan, Mykola Ishchenko, Oleksandr Romanchuk, Andriy Khomyn, Vitaliy Mandzyuk… Until recently, they played for leading clubs, defended the colors of the national team, and today they are desirable for our team.

In total, the expanded list includes up to 80 players, some of whom are currently working, and some are not allowed to play due to injuries or personal circumstances. This age mix is ​​good. Some fans in the stadiums love their favorite football players of the 90's and XNUMX's, and the younger generation is more interested in the idols they played a few years ago.

- How do players of different generations find a common language?

- The atmosphere in the team is amazing, everything is built on mutual respect and support. Guys are happy to see each other, if ever there are misunderstandings, they pass quickly. Wherever we go, everyone is amazed by the incredible atmosphere in the team, our good jokes.

We keep the level on the football field. I looked at the statistics: last year we played forty matches, winning 34 of them, scoring almost 150 goals. We are expected to have a football show, but at the same time we have to carry the flag of the national team with dignity, to show the proper result. The best players in Ukraine by nature are professionals, winners, maximalists in everything. It is a pleasure to work with your friends and colleagues!
