Ruslan Rotan: Every match left in the Euro-2021 qualifiers will be like a final for us

The coach of Ukraine U-XNUMX Ruslan Rotan is satisfied with the work of the team at the last gathering.

The head coach of the youth national team of Ukraine Ruslan Rotan summed up the results of match against Finland (2: 0) in the qualifying round for Euro-2021 (U-21).

- I think that the first half of the match with the Finns was successful for the Ukrainian national team, - said Rotan. - We scored two goals and in general completely controlled the situation on the field. In the second half, especially in the first half, we relaxed a bit, giving the initiative to the opponent. However, the threats to our gates arose mostly after the standard provisions. We ourselves could not realize several chances. In the future, I would like the team to play the whole game evenly.

- Who could you single out in this match? And how do you like the debut of the young guys?

- We now have a good generation of footballers. It is important that they all try to meet our requirements. I will not single out any of them now, the whole team worked as a single mechanism at the last meeting. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the clubs and coaches who came to meet us, which allowed the "youth" to start the training process three days before the UEFA date. This allowed us to better prepare and show, I think, good football in matches with Denmark and Finland.

- The tournament situation for Ukraine U-XNUMX is still not the best. How important will be the remaining games in terms of outcome?

- I have repeatedly said that the quality of the game is important for us, which we are trying to improve. Although we do not give up the result. Each match left in the qualifying will be like a final for the national team.
