"It's a pity that we didn't win, but I think our victories are ahead." The players of the youth national team of Ukraine - about the control matches in Georgia
On November 21, as part of preparations for the Euro-2023 (U-21) final tournament, the youth national team of Ukraine in the city of Gory held a control match with the Georgian team, which ended with a score of 1:1. We will remind that two days before that in Tbilisi, the blue and yellow team played a draw with their peers from Israel (1:1).
After the game with the Georgians, midfielders Ivan Zhelizko from the Latvian "Valmiera" and Oleksiy Kashchuk from the Azerbaijani "Sabah" shared their impressions.
"When I came here, I didn't know almost half of the guys at all. From the first training, Ruslan Rotan showed his style of football, which we have been practicing for more than a year. It was difficult for the new guys at first, but they gradually got used to our game. We showed an extremely good result, because in a few training sessions they adapted to a new style of play. I am pleasantly surprised," noted Ivan Zhelizko.
"As for my goal, it turned out to be a pretty good combination. Happy to score. It is a pity that we did not win, but I believe that our victories are ahead. In general, the meeting went quite well and positively, despite the fact that there was little time and a completely new team. All the guys did their job one hundred percent. Like every football player, I have a dream — to get to the Euro. I will do everything in my power to enter the list," said Oleksiy Kashchuk.
