Futsal Euro 2022. Rival of the national team of Ukraine - Kazakhstan: fourth ranking, victory in the group, naturalized Brazilians

In the quarterfinals of the 2022 European Futsal Championship, the national team of Ukraine will face the team of Kazakhstan.

In the group round of the European Championship blue-yellows lost to Netherlands (2:3), defeated Serbia (6:1) and lost to Portugal0:1), but took second place in the quartet and made it to the playoffs. In the quarterfinals, which takes place in Amsterdam today, January 31, Oleksandr Kosenko's wards will face Kazakhstan (kick-off at 21.00 pm Kyiv time). 

The opponent is one of the strongest teams in Europe in recent years, ranking fourth in the UEFA rankings. Kazakhstan became the bronze medalist of Euro 2016, and also took fourth place at the last European and world championships.

At the current European Championship, the Hawks won their group, scoring seven points. Birzhan Orazov with five goals is one of the top scorers in the final tournament. The team consists of several naturalized Brazilians - Igita, Douglas, Edson, Tainan. However, the last two will not play today. 

Previously, the national teams of Ukraine and Kazakhstan did not play in major international forums. The last time the teams met was in a friendly match in Brovary in early 2018 - the match ended in a draw (1: 1). Note that on the eve of Euro 2022, two scheduled friendly matches between these rivals were canceled.
