Valery Palamarchuk: "We will try to keep a residence permit in the elite division"

From August 23 to 30, the youth women's national team of Ukraine WU-19 in Pushcha-Vodytsya will conduct the preparation phase to the first round of the 2022 European Championship.

- According to the rating, we will play in League A, where our rivals in the group stage will be the players of the Netherlands (hosts), Scotland and Austria, - said the head coach of Ukraine Valery Palamarchuk in a comment to the official website of the UAF. - I am satisfied with the new formula for holding these prestigious competitions, because even in case of failure, my wards will be able to play in League B next spring. And for this age category, playing practice is very important. However, we will make every effort to maintain a residence permit in the class of the strongest, although our counterparts occupy significantly higher places in the table of ranks.

- Did you manage to call all worthy candidates to the preparatory meeting?

- No, for good reasons we will not be able to involve several players in the training process at once, but I hope that at the final stage of preparation just before leaving for the Netherlands, all of them will already be at my disposal. However, it is possible that we will have to do without Yulia Khrystyuk, in case the head coach of the women's national team of Ukraine Natalia Zinchenko will count on her.

- During the training camp in Pushcha-Vodytsya, control matches with representatives of the top league - "Kolos" and "Atex" are also planned…

- It would be more accurate to say that these will be training matches. I managed to agree with my colleagues from Kolos and Atex that during corner and free kicks, when the ball did not touch anyone, they would be interrupted. And we will have the opportunity to point out mistakes to the wards, so as not to step on the same rake in the next game episodes…

The tournament returns after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented the championship from being held in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons.

Based on the results of the draw, the place and dates of the matches in group A1 were determined. Valery Palamarchuk's wards will take part in the competitions in the Netherlands from October 19 to 27 this year.

The blue and yellows will start their matches with a match against the hosts of the group - the Netherlands (October 20), then their rivals will be the players of the Scottish national team (October 23), and will end the group stage of the Ukrainian on October 26 with a match against Austria.
