The U-19 youth futsal team of Ukraine lost to the Spanish team in the second control match

As part of the preparations for the final Euro-2023 (U-19) futsal tournament, the youth national team of Ukraine played a second sparring match with their Spanish counterparts.

In Spain, the blue and yellow teams are holding a training camp before the final part of the European Championship, which starts on September 3 in Poreč, Croatia. During the gathering, two control matches against the current champion of the continent were planned.

In the first sparring match, on August 23, Ihor Moskvichev's wards won — 5:4, and today, the 25th, they conceded — 2:5, and they led after the first half thanks to goals by Tkachenko and Malinovsky. 

We would like to add that on August 30, the blue and yellow team will play a friendly match against another participant of the European Championship, the French national team.

Our team is preparing for Euro-2023 (U-19), which will be held in Poreč on September 3-10. The team of Croatia, which will be the host of the championship, was made up of seven winners of the main round. The eight participants of the final tournament were divided into two groups of four teams each, the best two of which will advance to the semi-finals. According to the results of the draw, the youth national team of Ukraine have been drawn to group B, where they will play with Finland, Slovenia and Italy.

We will remind you that in March, the youth futsal team of Ukraine reached the final tournament of the continental championship for the third time in a row. In Group 2 of the main round of Euro-2023 selection (U-19), the matches of which were hosted by the Serbian city of Vrnjačka-Banja, Ihor Moskvychov's wards confidently beat Montenegro (12:1) and Romania (7:3), in the decisive match they beat Serbia (4:2), so they took the first step in the quartet.

Standings

The debut European Futsal Championship among youth was held in 2019 in Riga, the second draw took place in 2022 in Jaen — both times (2019, 2022) the Spanish team became the champion. The second championship was originally planned for 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national team of Ukraine participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaly Odegova's wards took third place in the group, and in 2022 stopped in the semi-finals.
